UNDERGROUND VAULT PROJECT IS ABOUT HOUSE MUSIC EDUCATION
First of all House Music is not neccessary bangin beats. House is a black music genre that combines elements like rhythms, melodies, pianos, vocals among others into a new form.
I admire personally DJ's that try to educate the crowd while they perform their sets, like for example Moodymann.
As many of you already might know, my Underground Vault Project is about combining Underground House Music from the past and present. An essential part of my project is the digging of House Music tracks from Chicago, which in the only and true originator of House Music. There are still so many hidden House Music gems in the discography of Chicago's House Music records labels that i discover every single week when i am digging. The other interesting part is to collect great House tracks that are made today and combine them with the Chicago Classics.

THIS MIX IS DEDICATED TO DJ ROMAIN, ONE OF MY FAVOURITE UNDERGROUND ARTISTS
I discovered DJ Romain when i was 23 on a record of Emotive Records called The Hard & Dark EP by John Cutler and DJ Romain.
This deep, funky and at the same time hypnotic groove of DJ Romain was always so pleasant to my years, i just can't describe it with words.
The past years he was very creative and made a form of Come-Back with fresh productions and an up-to-date modern house sound which i adored.
I supported his music 100% in my mixes. You can find many DJ Romain tracks in my mixes the last 3 years.
I am trully schocked and saddened to hear from his sister on Instagram he passed away. Realizing time flies like....
DJ Romain was a solid rock for the Underground House Scene, for the people who loved true house music and for me especially a very personal influence and Choice.
It's hard for me to accept, no other DJ Romain tracks will come out.
Paying my deepest respect to the master of Underground House.

Before anything, i am praying for my brother John Wolfman Jack who is struggling in the hospital for his health and life, sending my good thoughts and positive energy for a speedy recovery. John is a true master of the Soulful House Sound, everyone knows that inside Mixcloud.
House music would be nothing without it's great vocals. There are so many beautiful voices, both male and female, who praised house rhythms with their vocals. The Soulful Vibe was always there since the early Chicago House days, like for example Promised Land/Joe Smooth, Break 4 Love/Raze, Can't get Enough/Liz Torres. Real House Music has many faces, all of them are beautiful. But who knows today what real House Music is ? My mission is to bring up the original House Sound from Chicago and it's beauty. HOUSE DANCE AND CULTURE
I always believe that House Music is not just a music genre, but a whole culture, a way of living.
Listening to House Music, DJ-ing, producing, dancing to it, coming together and building communities with House Heads, is something we see often the last years in major cities.
House Dance is a spectacular style of dancing which combines strong moves from the street dance culture and breakdance, but oriented on the dancefloor .
I can only hope and wish that the House Spirit will continue to live in the future inside these Communities with great people.

My dear music friends, i wish you a happy new year full of health, joy and happiness.
I am very happy to announce, that this year my main interest will be the production of House Music as a solo Artist and Producer, which always has been a dream and desire for me.
In the next few days i will announce a new release. I hope all of you DJ's and listeners can share your feedback with me, as it is very important for any artist to evolve and evaluate the comments and feedback from people sharing the same love for music. HOUSE MUSIC MIXING TECHNIQUE
House Music requires special equipment and mixing techniques. If you hear some of the greatest DJ's in the genre like Joe Claussel, Louie Vega, Derrick Carter, Tony Humphries, Tim Regisford etc, you will realize they use a very smooth technique in their mix and some of them use an Isolator to add tension to their sets. Joe Claussel and Louie Vega make an amazing use of the Isolator, which acts like a musical instrument when operated with passion and style . The rotary mixer is another important House DJ Tool for producing a smooth mix and requires lots of practise in order to perfect it. On top of all is of course House Music and the track selection, but your passion and originality add your signature to your mix.

House Music is a way of life and a profound feeling in our hearts. A very crucial part of the culture is the House Dance, a special form of energetic dancing which also contains moves from
the breakdance scene. We think that it's only the natural reaction of the body to dance when you hear House Music, otherwise you will not experience the joy of House Music to it's full extend. It's a feeling, remember ?
You don't have to be a DJ to be a Househead, but to be a House DJ, you have to be a Househead, because without the love of House Music there is no way you can do it. We are a community sharing our common love and moments and we are spread all over the world.

TURNTABLE MIXING, DIGITAL DECKS MIXING AND THE SYNC BUTTON
Most of the DJ's today play with a DJ Controller like Traktor that allows them to be mobile and have much help and ease on the mix when using the Sync Button. Another feature is looping the instrumental parts of 2 tracks and mixing them very easily and effortlessly. Unfortunately the Sync Button can't do the whole job, the exact point of the mix and it's smoothness, must be something the DJ must feel and do on his own. A real good DJ will make the people have a great time and at the same time educate them to great music. Music selection is the most important thing always in a DJ set. If you look closely to the masters of the game, they always try to perform live mixes and remixes of tracks, demonstrating their technical excellence. The hardest DJ technique is with real turntables, where there is only your hands, the equipment and you, trying to drive the crowd with your heart and passion.
That is DJing to me.

UNDERGROUND DJs VS MAINSTREAM DJs
Most of the DJs today are trying to reach big and broad audiences and get a global recognition to finally be able to get many gigs and be rich(xoxo).
Their DJ Idols are DJs that have succedeed in this direction like for example Carl Cox, David Guetta and many others.
Usually they try to reach their fan base through Social Media and ads.
On the other hand theis is us, the Underground DJs, we are not seeking for massive recognition. We are happy when people with more experience and knowledge acknowledge our music, it's more about the music and not to be exclusively a global name. Maintain the music style and quality through years is what matters at most.We are happy with fewer people at our events but more educated to the culture of the music we love and support.

WHAT HAPPENEDED TO HOUSE MUSIC
Well, there is much anticipation about the history and present of house music. First of all the term House comes from : The House Sound of Chicago. So when we say House, so it's a 100% Chicago thing, that is clear. If you take a closer look at my Mixcloud mixes, they chart on a category named Chicago House.
The question is: If Chicago House is real House, than what's the meaning of the term House in Mixcloud today?
Hummm, that is a low quality production, commercial, plastic, afro, tech house sound. It's NOT real House Music, it's just called House.
The term House lost it's true meaning today.

Technically, my mix is performed with 2 DENON PRIME S5000M PRIME vinyl-feel CD players, an Allen Heath XONE92 rotary mixer and a Bozak 4-band Isolator. THE ART OF TRACK SELECTION AND DIGGING
Have you ever seen DJ Shadow in a basement record-store digging for records to sample for his productions?
That's digging folks, you get dusty fingers after a while. You just follow your desire to find something that moves your heart and soul.
So the track selections defines who we are and what a DJ is trying to express. It has to be a careful process with well selected tracks, that represent his style truly.
You can't expect to make something special by visiting a Traxsource chart and picking up quick 20 top charted tracks for your mix.
It has to be better than that. Your listeners must be able to recognize you from your sound, new, recent or older, even without seeing you physically. Creating your DJ personality out of your music selections, because only music matters. If you put the time and your heart to it, you will feel the satisfaction of doing your best. The rest is simply your success.

This is Underground Vault Project #64. This a pure house set for Househeads and dancers.
To me people, dj-ing is a spontaneous and emotional act. As i have mentioned in previous mixes, i create my mixes manually with vinyl feel DENON PRIME S5000M PRIME turntables and an analogue Allen Heath Xone 92 Rotary Mixer. I am improving my mixing technique and flow with every mix, i see it as a challenge. I will not outsource my skills to a computer, although i am a computer programmer. Rotary mixers can produce a smoother mix, as long as you are familiar and experienced with them, takes a lot of time and practice though. I also do not predefine the order of the tracks or the exact moment of the mix, i play them as i feel them during the flow of the mix. In other words, the dj act to me is an expression of the dj's talent and creativity. What i want to express with my mixes, a computer or software CAN'T EXRPESS, that motherfucker does not love house music. I DO.
